Can someone point me to a calculation or table that tells me how much damage I lose if I don't have the full required attribute level? I've searched and I can't find one.

Specifically, I want to know how much armor I'm losing if I have a shield that requires 12 tactics, but I can only get my att. points up to 11.

If you don't have the req. for an item you get "newbie" protection and damage out of it. Add the fact that none of the bonuses work either and you need to go looking for a new item.

In the Guides section here you'll find what % of advertised damage you do with lower weapon mastery, i.e. at 11/12 you do about 95% of advertised (So 15-22 for a sword really is 14-21).

Thanks. I finally found that guide. Don't know how I missed it earlier. If the mods on the shield won't work unless I have the total attribute points, I'm going to have to sell it.

Either that, or I'll have to get a major rune... I'll work it out...

Actually the other bonuses on a weapon will still work even if you don't meet the weapon's requirement. This even includes the +energy from a staff. Just don't expect to get much damage / armor out of that weapon or shield if you don't meet the req.
